Caring for a cut or wound that’s deep or in a difficult spot after surgery or injury is a hard job. Apart from that, they’re often carefully managed and need a trained practitioner with sterile bandages and equipment to be able to properly treat your wound.

Private care for surgical wounds
Most surgical wounds require some sort of care for at least a couple of weeks after your operation. Sometimes this might just be changing the bandage or dressing, but other times it could include packing a deep wound or ‘tunnel’ with sterile material until it heals. This can take weeks, if not months to complete, and should be some by someone fully trained with the right equipment.
Occasionally, your surgical site might have metal staples to hold the incision together. These will need removing after a period of time – usually around 10-14 days. We can remove these in one of our treatment rooms within minutes, and it’s usually a procedure that’s not too uncomfortable.
