The rabies injection isn’t on the routine vaccine schedule in the UK, but those needing it for travel reasons should be aware of key timings before they book an appointment so you can be fully covered before you fly.

You’ll need 3 doses of any rabies jab before you travel, usually on days 0,3 and 7. You should aim for this course to be completed at least a month before you leave the UK.
