Yellow Fever Vaccine

Yellow Fever is a virus that’s spread by infected mosquitoes in some tropical continents like Central Africa and South America.

Yellow Fever Vaccine

Many countries in these yellow fever risk-zones require travellers to have a vaccine certificate that proves they’re protected from infection.

Someone infected with yellow Fever might start to show flu-like symptoms within a few days of being bitten, and some people can go on to become seriously unwell and require hospital treatment.

Yellow Fever Travel Injection

We’d always recommend getting vaccinated against yellow fever if you’re travelling to a high-risk country, even if your destination doesn’t require you to have an injection certificate.

Mosquito bites can be serious, but making sure you get the travel injections you need in enough time before you fly can give you extra protection against spending your holiday in a hospital half way across the world.

Yellow Fever vaccine certificate

When you have any travel injections through Ready Health, you’ll be provided with a vaccine certificate to prove that you’re protected from certain illnesses. This is included in the price of your appointment, and is valid for however long your vaccine provides protection.

Yellow Fever Vaccine Faqs

All injections have the potential to cause side effects, but in the case of the yellow Fever jab, the benefits far outweigh any risk of mild symptoms after your vaccine.
Some of the most commonly reported symptoms after the jab include:
- Headaches
- Muscle pain
- Pain and tenderness at the injection site
- Slightly raised temperature
It’s rare to get any serious side effects from the yellow fever vaccine, but please speak to your practitioner if you’re over 60, have a weakened immune system, or have any problems with your thymus gland.

The yellow fever vaccine can be given relatively soon before you’re due to be in a high-risk area. While most travel vaccines are recommended to be completed at least a month before you leave, the yellow fever jab can be given up to 10 days before you land at your destination.
This means you’ll be able to stagger your injections if you need more than one for your trip.

Our price for a single injection against yellow fever infection costs £??, or you can save ??% when you book 2 or more of your travel injections with Ready Health.
We’ve tried to make our private travel clinic as affordable as possible to keep you safe overseas. If you’d like further advice on vaccinations or what you should do to prepare for your time away, please book an appointment with one of our travel clinicians.
